Mimi's House has a new home!
Mimi's House is moving to Waukegan to a bigger space to help better serve our families. We have launched a Building Capital Campaign with a goal of $200,000. Our new home will provide visit space for child and parent supervised visits, parenting classes, foster parent support groups, play therapy, individual and family counseling, and much more. Help us reach our goal by donating today!
We envision a Child Welfare System that minimizes trauma and works cohesively to achieve permanency
We provide children and families access to the services and resources they need in order to safely and appropriately accomplish permanency in a timely manner. Mimi’s House is dedicated to mitigating the effects of trauma on children in care by preventing systemic trauma, addressing the families’ trauma histories and providing necessary and appropriate training for caregivers and staff.
Mimi's House Family Advocacy Center provides social, emotional, and tangible resources to those impacted by the Child Welfare system
Mimi's House strives to minimize trauma experiences for Foster Parents, Youth in Care, and Child Welfare Employees through community connections and resources. Following case opening, we provide meeting spaces for supervised visitation and staffing resources to help agencies and families with transportation or visitation supervision.
